During the Year 11 workshop, we caught up with Nicole who was nearing the end of the Future Frontiers programme and beginning to look seriously at which post-16 pathways she wanted to take. At the beginning of Year 10, Nicole had felt confused by her options and didn't know which options would suit her best.

“At the start of Year 10 I was confused, I didn’t know what to do. After the Year 11 workshop I can confidently say I know what to do, I know which school I’m going to, and I know which career path I want to choose”

The Year 11 workshop supports pupils' decision-making by taking the pressure off and providing them with the time and freedom to fully explore their strengths and interests. Nicole was able to research different options before picking something that truly resonated with her.

“The workshop really made me happy because I started thinking about my sixth form and university”

By the end of the Year 11 workshop Nicole felt more clarity on her post-16 options and her future career. Nicole now knows that she wants to study medicine at university and hopes to specialise in psychology.

"The workshop was so helpful because I was really conflicted with my studies in my sixth form, but now I feel happy with my decision"
