Meet ambitious 14 year old Iman. Iman’s coaching journey with Alex from digital marketing agency Byte London has transformed his outlook on school and his education. Now he has a plan for how to realise his ambitions - including giving back to others.
"Before I started the programme, I didn't think much about the property business and how to get there. I thought I would just get out of school and have my GCSEs and get
a job, but it's not like that. Now that I came and did the programme I know what I need to do.
"Before, I thought ‘why am I coming to school?’, but I have realised it gives you the education you need for the future"
Alex was a really good coach, he opened many doors to me and showed me what A-levels I would need to do and what qualifications I need to get into university.
Before, I thought ‘why am I coming to
school?’, but I have realised it gives you the education you need for the future and helps you with other challenges that you might have in the future.
I see teachers are there to help you and you need education to get you to high level jobs.
The most interesting thing I did was I went on a call with someone in the property sector which opened my mind - I learned more detailed things like how I would earn commission on top of a wage.
The next step in my plan is getting good GCSEs - everything is linked to getting the grades at GCSEs to do what I want after.
"One thing I would take from it is that I have people who believe in me and will help me get what I need to achieve."
I want to try and do well in English - I need this for a property career because you need to do a lot of negotiating and know how to talk well with other people.
After school and GCSEs I want to go to college and do an A-level in Maths and a BTEC in Business and eventually I want to work in real estate or something in the property business.
One thing I would take from it is that I have people who believe in me and will help me get what I need to achieve.
When I do achieve what I want to achieve, I want to take care of the people around me and my family, give back to people who don't have as much as me."
