Phase 1

Discover and Explore

Through personalised exercises, activities and discovery sessions,

our coaches guide their pupils in discovering and exploring the careers best matched to their pupils’ aspirations, and find out what they could be great at.

Connect

Pupils have the opportunity to speak to a careers advisor to gain practical knowledge. Coaches help connect pupils to inspiring professionals in their chosen industry via Skype that brings their career ideas to life

Achieve

Focused on their top careers, pupils make a clear plan that sets out the academic route to achieving their top choice.

Pupils review their development plans with their coach to create real change in their performance at school.

About one in three disadvantaged students achieved at least 5 A*-C GCSE grades in 2014, compared with more than 64% of their wealthier peers.

In the UK,

over 800,000 young people are currently not in education, employment or training (NEET).

When asked

‘What encourages you to work hard at school?’,

pupils' top response (41%) was a desire to achieve career goals.

Future Frontiers is an award-winning charity that exists to transform the life chances of disadvantaged young people through their aspirations.

Our vision is to equip young people with the information, skills, and mind-sets to be able to realise their educational potential and maintain the motivation to achieve their full potential.

What we look for

We look for talented university student volunteers who are excited to work face-to-face with young people, who don't have many opportunities to engage with ambitious people like yourself, and want to make a difference in a young person's life.

We want committed team members who want to build pupils' aspirations, engagement with school, and academic success. We look for volunteers who want to learn and grow their problem-solving and leadership skills.
