A POSITIVE PARTNERSHIP

Future Frontiers and Ashurst LLP

Ashurst is a leading multinational law firm – its largest office is in London. The firm is committed to delivering a positive impact in the communities in which it is based.

Ashurst became Future Frontiers’ founding corporate partner in 2015 and has since run four Future Frontiers programmes. To date, Ashurst has supported over 80 young people from low-income backgrounds to fulfil their potential at school and beyond.

What does the partnership involve?

Each year, Future Frontiers has paired Ashurst to a local school. Future Frontiers then work alongside the Corporate Responsibility Manager to recruit 15 volunteers to take part in the programme.

Following a three-hour training session, each volunteer is matched to one or two Year 12 students from that school.

Ashurst volunteers coach their pupils through the Future Frontiers programme. They help pupils to:

  1. Identify careers that inspire them.

  2. Connect with professionals in their chosen careers.

  3. Build a plan that can help turn their aspirations into reality.

"We’ve had several staff volunteer year on year - a testament both to our staff’s commitment to social good, and the high-quality employee experience Future Frontiers provide."

Ella Blakesley, Corporate Responsibility Manager, Ashurst

I went in as a person that was completely closed minded - I didn’t know what I was doing with my life and I came out with a clear mindset. It was a phenomenal experience.

Taosif, Future Frontiers participant

As a regular volunteer on the Future Frontiers programme, I can say it’s one of the most rewarding initiatives we run here at Ashurst. I walk away feeling like I’ve made a massive difference.
